Location: Brattleboro, Vermont. Located 10 miles north of the Massachusetts state line and within easy driving distance to a handful of local and state parks. The downtown area is home to a number of restaurants, breweries, historic theaters, galleries and boutiques. The West River offers opportunities for the outdoor lover to enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking and tubing.

Facility: A private, not-for-profit, psychiatric and addiction treatment hospital offering comprehensive services designed to meet the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults from all walks of life.

Opportunity: Locums Medical Director for Medical Services.

As one of the leaders of the medical staff, the Medical Director of Medical Services (MDMS) participates in policy setting, planning and priority setting for medical services. This includes participation with leaders from management, including the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Directors for Inpatient Services, and medical staff in the hospital’s decision-making structures and processes. The MDMS assumes overall responsibility for the medical integrity of the Retreat’s medical services, including setting standards of practice competency and care for medical care throughout those areas, including attention to management of human, fiscal and material resources. The MDMS serves as the direct supervisor for all members of the Medical Consult Service staff.

Additionally, the MDMS serves as a staff physician, and provides clinical care for the Medical Consult Service as needed.

Physician will provide occasional clinical care, will not be carrying a full case load
This is a director of medical services provided within a behavioral health setting, so behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation: 8k/week with full travel and weekly pay/malpractice
