PM&R opening in Wilmington, NC - Inpatient Rehab

Seeking BC/BE PM&R Physician
Overview:
* Lead inpatient rehabilitation services within an established Neurosciences program
* Anticipated start date of October 2026
* Primarily inpatient Rehabilitation Medicine with future opportunity to expand into outpatient services
* Provide on-site clinical coverage approximately 36–40 hours per week
* Average daily census of approximately 29–31 patients with roughly 900 admissions annually
* Patient population is approximately 60% neurological conditions, primarily Stroke/CVA, along with amputation, debility and multi-trauma cases
* Primarily adult population with an average age of 64; occasional adolescent patients ages 12–17
* Team includes 1 on-site PM&R Physician Monday–Friday and 4 APPs, with an additional PM&R Physician available for backup
* APPs provide first-line call coverage with physician backup; Hospitalists available 24/7
* APP coverage provided on weekends and holidays
* Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Rehab Nurses, Hospitalists and other support staff
* Current inpatient rehabilitation program has been established for more than 32 years and is the only inpatient rehabilitation facility in the region
* Opportunity to help transition the program into a new 60-private-room rehabilitation facility scheduled to open in January 2028
* Seeking BC/BE PM&R Physician with inpatient Rehabilitation Medicine experience
* Current state medical license and DEA required
