Job description

Job description A hospital in the Bay City, MI area needs a PM&R physician to cover a physiatrist's vacation on a 20-bed inpatient rehab unit for two weeks: November 23 to 27 and November 30 to December 4. Pay is $300.30 per hour, and $450.45 per hour for holidays and overtime. Monday to Friday, onsite days, no call, no weekends. Inpatient rehab only, with no outpatient clinic. Adult patients, with 10 to 20 on the unit. Level III trauma center with 24-hour lab and a 24-hour anesthesia department.

Job Responsibilities

See every new admission face to face within 24 hours, round on the unit, take consults, and provide face-to-face patient care. Attend the scheduled team conferences, which are prescheduled. Complete the PM&R documentation, including pre-admission screening review per CMS guidelines, post-admission evaluations, H&P, weekly care plan documentation, IPOCs, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation. Prescribing narcotics is part of the role.

Qualifications

Board certified in PM&R (board eligible is not accepted). Active Michigan license in hand, since the hospital does not accept IMLC. BLS. Must be local to the Bay City area and available for both weeks. A clean background is required for quick credentialing.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8a to 5p, onsite daily, for November 23 to 27 and November 30 to December 4. No call, no weekends.

Skills

Adult inpatient rehab, stroke rehab, rounding and consults, Cerner EMR. The unit is CARF accredited as a Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program for Adults and a Stroke Specialty Program.
