Job description

Job description Work within an established inpatient rehabilitation environment alongside physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, consultants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. The Medical Director will maintain an active PM&R practice while providing clinical leadership and supporting quality, physician engagement, and program development.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide inpatient PM&R care.
Conduct admission evaluations and consultations.
Perform daily inpatient rounds.
Complete comprehensive H&Ps.
Develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
Perform functional, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal assessments.
Manage pain and spasticity.
Perform applicable diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Manage medically complex rehabilitation patients.
Coordinate with consulting specialists.
Provide rehabilitation consultations.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Medical Director Responsibilities
Lead interdisciplinary rehabilitation conferences.
Partner with executive leadership.
Develop and enhance clinical policies.
Drive quality improvement and patient safety.
Support CMS, Joint Commission, and IRF compliance.
Mentor physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Assist with physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
Promote evidence-based rehabilitation.
Support program development and community partnerships.
Contribute to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required
MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R.
Completion of an accredited PM&R residency.
Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Commitment to evidence-based rehabilitation medicine.
Interest in clinical leadership and patient-outcome improvement.
Preferred
Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief of PM&R, or comparable leadership experience.
2+ years of inpatient rehabilitation experience.
Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
Knowledge of CMS, IRF-PAI, Joint Commission standards, and rehabilitation quality metrics.
EMG/NCS.
Ultrasound-guided injections.
Spasticity management/Botox.
Musculoskeletal medicine.
Interventional rehabilitation procedures.
