Job description

Job description Join an established inpatient rehabilitation program supported by a multidisciplinary clinical team and executive leadership. The Medical Director will have the opportunity to combine hands-on PM&R care with clinical leadership, physician mentorship, quality improvement, and program development.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical
Inpatient PM&R evaluations and consultations.
Admission assessments.
Daily inpatient rounds.
Comprehensive H&Ps.
Individualized rehabilitation plans.
Functional, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal assessments.
Pain and spasticity management.
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures when applicable.
Medical management of complex rehabilitation patients.
Coordination with consulting specialists.
Clinical documentation and compliance.
Leadership
Lead interdisciplinary team conferences.
Partner with executive leadership.
Develop and improve clinical policies.
Drive quality and patient-safety initiatives.
Support regulatory and IRF compliance.
Mentor physicians and multidisciplinary staff.
Participate in physician recruitment and retention.
Promote evidence-based rehabilitation practices.
Support program development and community partnerships.

Qualifications

Required
MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R.
Completion of an accredited PM&R residency.
Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in South Carolina.
Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one.
Strong clinical leadership and communication skills.
Commitment to evidence-based rehabilitation care.
Preferred
Previous Medical Director or comparable physician leadership experience.
2+ years of IRF experience.
Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
Knowledge of CMS, IRF-PAI, Joint Commission standards, and rehabilitation quality metrics.
EMG/NCS.
Ultrasound-guided injections.
Spasticity/Botox management.
Musculoskeletal medicine.
Interventional rehabilitation procedures.
