Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Location: Wheeling, WV • Seeking a Pain Medicine Physiatrist to join an established Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation practice in Wheeling, WV • Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank available • Primarily outpatient practice focused on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, interventional spine, and pain management • Provide high-quality patient care while participating in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows • Strong interest in education and research encouraged • Clinical and basic science research is supported, with laboratory facilities available • All faculty participate actively in an integrated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program Clinical Responsibilities: • Provide medical management for neurologic and general rehabilitation patients • Perform interventional spine and pain management procedures • Special focus on spasticity management • Opportunities for electrodiagnostic evaluations • Opportunities for ultrasound-guided procedures • Expanding outpatient services including spasticity management, prosthetics, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) care • Work within a comprehensive neuroscience center managing a variety of neuromuscular and neurologic disorders Qualifications: • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree • Eligible for a West Virginia medical license • Completion of an accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation • Completion of one of the following: o One-year NASS Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Fellowship o ACGME Pain Medicine Fellowship o ACGME Interventional Sports Medicine Fellowship o Private practice interventional spine/pain fellowship • Candidate must be ACGME Board Certified/Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine or Interventional Sports Medicine, or have a certificate of completion from a NASS Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal program or other private interventional spine/pain fellowship • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment Health System Overview: • Part of West Virginia’s largest health system and largest employer • Physician-led health system known for stability, advanced technology, and continued growth • Significant expansion in specialty and subspecialty care, including cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience • Operates the state’s first and only multi-organ transplant center • Includes a 150-bed children’s hospital • More than 20 member hospitals serving a multi-state region • Serves communities across West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania About Wheeling, WV: • Offers the comforts of a small town with the amenities of a big city • Lower cost of living compared with larger metropolitan areas • Less than an hour from Pittsburgh, PA • Approximately two hours from Columbus, OH • Located within the Wheeling-Belmont County Metropolitan Statistical Area • Vibrant cultural community featuring major art exhibitions, symphony concerts, theatrical productions, dance performances, history programs, classes, workshops, and seminars • Numerous fairs, festivals, arts, and cultural events throughout the year • Year-round outdoor recreation including golf, hiking, biking, kayaking, water sports, running, skiing, and snowboarding • Family-friendly activities and community amenities.
