A leading rehabilitation organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to serve as Medical Director of an established inpatient rehabilitation program.
This unique physician leadership opportunity combines hands-on inpatient rehabilitation medicine with executive-level clinical leadership. The Medical Director will help shape the clinical vision of the program while partnering with hospital administration and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care
Perform admission evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
Manage daily inpatient rounds and patient care plans
Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment strategies
Conduct functional and neuromuscular assessments
Manage medically complex rehabilitation patients
Treat conditions including stroke, TBI, SCI, orthopedic trauma, and neurological disorders
Perform EMG/NCS studies and injections when applicable
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation
Medical Director Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership for inpatient rehabilitation services
Lead interdisciplinary rehabilitation team conferences
Partner with executive leadership on program development
Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Support CMS, Joint Commission, and regulatory compliance
Mentor physicians and clinical teams
Assist with physician recruitment and onboarding
Support strategic growth initiatives and community relationships
Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Completion of accredited PM&R residency program
Eligible for Ohio medical licensure or currently licensed
DEA registration or ability to obtain
Strong communication and leadership skills
Commitment to evidence-based rehabilitation care
Preferred:
Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, or physician leadership experience
Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) experience
Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
Knowledge of:
CMS regulations
IRF documentation requirements
Joint Commission standards
Quality metrics
Experience with:
EMG/NCS
Ultrasound-guided injections
Spasticity management
Botox injections
Musculoskeletal medicine
Working Hours
Monday – Friday schedule
Primarily inpatient rehabilitation setting
No traditional hospital call schedule
