A premier inpatient rehabilitation organization is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to serve as Medical Director of its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Aiken, South Carolina.
This unique opportunity combines hands-on inpatient rehabilitation medicine with physician leadership responsibilities. The Medical Director will help guide clinical excellence, support interdisciplinary teams, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the continued growth of the rehabilitation program.

Job Responsibilities
Perform admission evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
Manage daily inpatient rehabilitation rounds
Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
Perform functional and neuromuscular assessments
Manage medically complex rehabilitation patients
Treat conditions involving:
Stroke recovery
Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
Spinal cord injury (SCI)
Neurological disorders
Orthopedic trauma
Joint replacement recovery
Amputation rehabilitation
Chronic pain and functional decline
Manage pain, spasticity, and rehabilitation-related medical conditions
Perform EMG/NCS studies and injections when applicable
Collaborate with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams
Ensure accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Completion of accredited Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure
DEA registration or ability to obtain
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Commitment to patient-centered rehabilitation care
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, or physician leadership experience
2+ years of inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) experience
Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
Knowledge of:
CMS regulations
IRF-PAI documentation
Joint Commission standards
Quality metrics and performance improvement
Experience with:
EMG/NCS
Ultrasound-guided injections
Botulinum toxin injections
Spasticity management
Musculoskeletal medicine
Working Hours
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Call: No traditional call schedule
