PM&R Medical Director Opportunity – Inpatient Rehabilitation Leadership
A nationally recognized rehabilitation healthcare organization is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to serve as a Medical Director for an inpatient rehabilitation program.
This physician leadership opportunity offers the unique combination of clinical practice, administrative leadership, and program development within a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation environment.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about rehabilitation medicine, improving patient outcomes, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Job Responsibilities
Perform inpatient rehabilitation evaluations and admissions
Manage medically complex rehabilitation patients
Conduct daily patient rounds
Develop individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with therapy teams and consulting specialists
Participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation conferences
Support evidence-based rehabilitation practices
Leadership Responsibilities:
Provide physician leadership for rehabilitation services
Partner with hospital administration
Support quality improvement initiatives
Promote patient safety and clinical excellence
Mentor physicians and clinical team members
Assist with program development and growth initiatives
Patient Population Includes:
Stroke rehabilitation
Traumatic brain injury
Spinal cord injury
Neurological conditions
Orthopedic trauma
Joint replacement recovery
Medically complex rehabilitation cases
Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Completion of accredited PM&R residency program
Eligible for medical licensure in applicable state
Strong communication and leadership skills
Commitment to patient-centered rehabilitation care
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Medical Director or physician leadership experience
Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) experience
Experience leading interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge of CMS and IRF standards
Experience with:
EMG/NCS
Spasticity management
Botox injections
Ultrasound-guided procedures
