PM&R Medical Director Opportunity – Inpatient Rehabilitation Leadership
A nationally recognized healthcare organization is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to serve as Medical Director of an inpatient rehabilitation program in Aiken, South Carolina.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician who enjoys combining clinical practice with physician leadership. The Medical Director will provide inpatient rehabilitation care while helping guide clinical excellence, quality initiatives, physician collaboration, and program development.

Clinical Responsibilities:
The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care including:
• Performing admission evaluations and physical examinations
• Managing daily inpatient rounds
• Developing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
• Managing medically complex rehabilitation patients
• Coordinating care with therapy teams and consulting specialists
• Addressing pain, spasticity, and functional limitations
• Maintaining timely and compliant documentation
Job Responsibilities
The Medical Director will:
• Lead interdisciplinary rehabilitation team conferences
• Partner with executive leadership on clinical initiatives
• Support quality improvement and patient safety programs
• Promote evidence-based rehabilitation practices
• Mentor physicians and multidisciplinary clinical staff
• Support regulatory compliance initiatives
Patient Population Includes:
• Stroke
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
• Neurological disorders
• Orthopedic rehabilitation
• Joint replacement recovery
• Polytrauma
• Functional decline
• Medically complex rehabilitation cases
Qualifications
• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
• Completion of accredited PM&R residency program
• Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure
• DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
• Previous Medical Director experience
• Associate Medical Director experience
• Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) experience
• Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
• Knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission, and IRF standards
• Experience with EMG/NCS, injections, Botox, or spasticity management
