We're seeking a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to serve as a Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for workers' compensation patients in a collaborative, multidisciplinary outpatient environment.

Position Details

• Setting: 100% Outpatient Multispecialty Clinic – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Occupational Medicine, and Interventional Pain Management
• Locations: Alameda and Sacramento, CA
• Patient Population: Working-age adults with occupational, musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and neurologic injuries
• Role: Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for Workers' Compensation cases, with an emphasis on continuity of care and long-term patient relationships
• Schedule: Full-Time preferred | Part-Time available
• Hours: Monday–Friday | No nights, no call, and no weekends required (weekend shifts available if desired)
• Patient Volume: 16–22 patients per day
• Locations: Sacramento, Stockton, Alameda, and Salinas, California
• Compensation: Competitive salary (DOE) plus RVU incentive program
• Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

As a PM&R Physician, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients recovering from occupational and musculoskeletal injuries. Because physicians serve as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for workers' compensation cases, the practice values providers who are interested in building long-term relationships and providing continuity of care throughout each patient's recovery.

This is a 100% outpatient position with no hospital rounding, inpatient responsibilities, call, or mandatory weekend work. You'll have the support of an experienced administrative and clinical team, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

While the practice includes Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management services, interventional spine procedures are not performed in-house and are not required. Physicians primarily perform outpatient musculoskeletal procedures such as:

• Joint injections
• Ultrasound-guided injections
• Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
• Other non-operative musculoskeletal procedures

Providers who prefer a non-interventional PM&R practice are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and neurologic conditions
• Serve as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for workers' compensation patients
• Develop individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans that restore function and improve quality of life
• Perform outpatient musculoskeletal procedures as appropriate (joint injections, ultrasound-guided injections, PRP, etc.)
• Manage a daily patient panel of approximately 16–22 patients
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff across PM&R, Occupational Medicine, Interventional Pain Management, and Internal Medicine
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative, expanding PM&R program

Requirements

• Active California Medical License (required)
• Current DEA Registration (required)
• Fellowship or Residency Training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (required)
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in PM&R preferred
