A nationally recognized inpatient rehabilitation organization is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to serve as Medical Director at one of its premier rehabilitation hospitals.
This is an exceptional opportunity to combine an active inpatient rehabilitation practice with physician leadership. You'll collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team while helping shape clinical strategy, quality initiatives, and program growth in a modern inpatient rehabilitation setting.
The Medical Director will provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, neurological disorders, amputations, and other medically complex conditions.
Locations available:
- Waterbury, Connecticut
- South Point, Ohio
Compensation includes a $400,000-$500,000 base salary (DOE), leadership incentives, productivity bonuses, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, CME, malpractice with tail coverage, comprehensive benefits, and long-term leadership development.
Job Responsibilities
Perform admission evaluations and daily rounding
Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
Lead interdisciplinary team conferences
Partner with executive leadership to improve clinical quality
Mentor physicians and rehabilitation staff
Support quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with rehabilitation standards
Promote evidence-based rehabilitation medicine
Assist with program development and strategic growth
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited PM&R residency
Eligible for medical licensure in Connecticut or Ohio (depending on location)
Active DEA or ability to obtain prior to employment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Commitment to high-quality inpatient rehabilitation care
Preferred:
Medical Director or physician leadership experience
Two or more years practicing in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)
Experience leading multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams
Knowledge of CMS regulations, Joint Commission standards, and IRF quality metrics
