Client is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to serve as the Medical Director of a premier inpatient rehabilitation hospital in South Point, Ohio.

Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care by:
Performing admission evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
Managing daily inpatient rounds
Developing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
Conducting functional and neuromuscular assessments
Managing pain, spasticity, and medically complex rehabilitation patients
Performing EMG/NCS studies and diagnostic or therapeutic injections, when applicable
Preventing secondary rehabilitation complications
Collaborating with consulting physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
Maintaining timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
Medical Director Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership while supporting operational excellence by:
Leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation team conferences
Partnering with executive leadership to advance hospital initiatives
Developing and implementing clinical policies and best practices
Driving quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Supporting compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and IRF regulatory standards
Mentoring physicians and multidisciplinary clinical staff
Assisting with physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention
Supporting strategic growth and community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
The Medical Director will oversee the care of patients recovering from a variety of medically complex conditions, including:
Stroke
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
Parkinson's disease
Multiple sclerosis
Orthopedic trauma
Joint replacement
Polytrauma
Amputation
Chronic pain
Functional decline
Other medically complex rehabilitation diagnoses
Working Hours
Required:
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Completion of an accredited PM&R residency program
Eligible for or currently licensed to practice medicine in Ohio
DEA registration or ability to obtain
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered rehabilitation care
Preferred:
Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief of PM&R, or other physician leadership experience
Two or more years of inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) experience
Experience leading interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
Knowledge of:
CMS regulations
IRF-PAI documentation
Joint Commission standards
Quality and performance metrics
Experience with:
EMG/NCS
Ultrasound-guided injections
Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections
Spasticity management
Musculoskeletal medicine
