Job at a glance
Job description
UK King's Daughters is a 455-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Kentucky. We are part of the University of Kentucky Health system. We own 40+ primary care clinics in outlying areas of Kentucky and Ohio which refer patients from a catchment area of about 750,000 people to our main campus for testing and treatment. In 2025, we completed a $150 million construction project on campus, which gave us a brand-new ER, a new main entrance, and an all-new Imaging Department. Our Emergency Department sees more than 80,000 patients per year. We offer nearly all medical specialties at our facility, except pediatric subspecialties and transplant surgery.
We have an opening for a full-time PM&R physician. The physician will join our Interventional Spine and Pain Center, will be an employee of the medical center, and will receive a salary guarantee of $315K and wRVU productivity compensation. The incoming physician will also earn excellent benefits (health, vision, dental, life, retirement), six weeks of vacation, and an additional week for CME. Additionally, we offer a $30,000 signing bonus and student loan repayment of $60,000. We are specifically looking for candidates who are interested in reading EMGs.
Ashland, KY is a town of about 25,000 people, located right on the Ohio River. We have a clean town with minimal traffic, a beautiful and very active performing arts theater, indoor tennis, a large downtown park, and boutique shopping. Our Tri-State region (Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia) is renowned for safe, family-friendly communities with an excellent cost of living. We also have some of the country's finest state parks that feature golf, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting and biking. We have four seasons, all of which are relatively mild. We are also a short drive to metro cities in Ohio (Cincinnati and Columbus) and Kentucky (Lexington and Louisville). We are also about 20 minutes from Huntington, WV, the home of Marshall University. Additionally, about two hours away in West Virginia, there is excellent snow skiing and the New River Gorge National Park, which offers multiple outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and hiking.
