Facility in San Francisco, CA seeking PMR locums for weekend coverage
Opportunity Highlights
-
Consistent Weekend Coverage: Provide coverage every Saturday and Sunday.

Split Schedule: You will provide 6+ hours of coverage on-site each day (8 AM - 2 PM generally) for rounding, admissions, and discharges, and then be on call for the remainder of the 24-hour period for any necessary admissions.

Dual Facility Coverage: You will cover both facilities (approximately 3 miles apart).

EMR: The facility utilizes Epic for all charting.

Support & Collaboration: Internal and general medicine providers are available for acute medical issues. Consult services (Neurology, Orthopedics, Pain, Internal Medicine) are readily available.

Case Mix: Manage a daily census of 12–13 patients across the two facilities, focusing on general PM&R (stroke, orthopedic, and general rehab). Not currently focused on TBI or spinal cord injury.
Key Responsibilities

Provide admissions, discharges, and rounding on inpatient acute care rehab units (6+ hours on-site).

Be on call after rounding is complete for any necessary admissions.

Manage rehabilitation plans for patients with diverse physical and neurological conditions (excluding TBI/SCI).

Procedures (Preferred): Proficiency in general PM&R procedures like EMG/NCS, joint injections, and spasticity management (Botox or intrathecal baclofen pumps) is highly desirable.
Requirements

Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) is accepted.

Experience: Must have at least 2 years of experience working in inpatient PM&R.

Licensure: An active California (CA) State License is REQUIRED. The facility is not willing to license.

Certifications: AHA BLS is required.

DEA: Active CA DEA with Schedule 2/2n authority is required.

Malpractice/Background: Malpractice over $500K or more than 2 cases requires first- and third-party documentation.

Credentialing: Estimated timeframe is 45–60 days. No emergency privileges are available.
