Job description

A highly regarded national rehab provider has been growing and adding a Physiatrist to maintain a work/life balance for our clinicians! This Physiatrist will lead our acute rehab consult service. This is a key role focused on improving patient flow, reducing hospital length of stay, and building functional continuity through early rehab intervention and thoughtful discharge planning.

You’ll help expand the consult program with strong institutional support and the flexibility to shape your practice across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Position Overview

  • Expand and lead a consult service at a partner acute care hospital

The volume of consults could be a practice unto itself!

  • Carry a small inpatient census (5–10 beds)
  • See patients in your own outpatient clinic—space is already prepared on campus

Team Structure & Call

  • Creative and flexible PM&R physician scheduling here – how might you fit in?
  • Internal Medicine physician and APP manage medical issues and take most night call
  • PM&R call is light, rotated, and supported — weekends largely covered by external physicians
  • Physiatrists rarely come in on weekends

Why This Role

  • Immediate opening with autonomy
  • Backed by a rehab organization consistently ranked in the Top 10% nationally for outcomes
  • Flexibility to grow your practice across consults, inpatient, and outpatient settings
  • Excellent therapy team and hospital system support

Why are you not here already?

  • Affordable cost of living, great neighborhoods, and strong schools
  • Over 33,000 acres of parks, trails, and outdoor recreation
  • Revitalized downtown with breweries, dining, and arts
  • Easy access to Cleveland’s airport, professional sports, and cultural events

This is a rare opportunity to lead a service line and build a meaningful PM&R practice in a community that values your role and impact.
