Job description

Job description

We’re excited to work with a well-respected pediatric rehab team in the Southeast to recruit a third Pediatric Physiatrist to join a collaborative, mission-driven program. This is a great chance to step into a balanced IP and OP practice, which is primarily clinical. The physician will be supported by an experienced team that is focused on high-quality clinical care and where long-term program development is a statewide agenda. The Peds PM&R program is within an academic institution, so research and teaching opportunities are available and supported.

The position has both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with consults available. The team prioritizes thoughtful, hands-on care. Call is light, shared on a 1-in-4 basis, and a dedicated hospitalist team supports weekend coverage. The unit is poised to expand once the new hire is on board. This is part of a statewide collaborative effort to meet the broader need for pediatric rehab services, with strong backing from leadership and health agencies.

You’ll be joining a close-knit team that includes an experienced physician planning to slow down and a rising leader who is highly regarded by staff and peers. The goal is to preserve the team’s strong dynamic while providing opportunities for a new physician to grow professionally, with support for academic advancement and leadership involvement.

What You Can Expect:

  • Inpatient-focused role with minimal call and strong weekend support
  • Protected outpatient time when not on service
  • Faculty appointment with support for teaching, academic expenses, and research (if desired)
  • Opportunity to help expand services across the region, including outpatient outreach

A Great Place to Live:

Home to a major university and just minutes from a large man-made lake and river network with over 600 miles of shoreline, this is one of the best-kept secrets in the Southeast. The friendly inhabitants, cost of living, and more to do for everyone in any phase of life make this part of South Carolina a true hidden gem. Enjoy short commutes, affordable lakefront housing, and a year-round outdoor lifestyle in a city that supports both your career and your family life.
