A unique opportunity is available for a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to join a leading inpatient rehabilitation hospital in East Texas as either a staff physician or Medical Director. This role is designed for physicians who want to focus exclusively on inpatient rehabilitation medicine without the demands of outpatient clinic or pain management responsibilities. Physicians will practice within a newly renovated 49-bed acute rehabilitation hospital connected to a large regional medical center. The schedule offers excellent work-life balance with a Monday–Friday structure and manageable patient volumes supported by a strong interdisciplinary team. In addition to clinical practice, physicians may participate in academic teaching and research initiatives through the program’s academic affiliation. This position offers leadership potential, clinical variety, and the ability to build a rewarding long-term career in rehabilitation medicine.
Practice, Compensation & Organization Highlights
- 100% inpatient rehabilitation practice with no outpatient clinic responsibilities
- Leadership opportunity available as Medical Director of the inpatient rehabilitation program
- Monday–Friday schedule, 8 AM–5 PM with strong autonomy
- Manageable daily volume of approximately 14 consults
- Diverse rehabilitation case mix including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and amputations
- Newly renovated 49-bed acute rehabilitation hospital connected to a large regional medical center
- Interdisciplinary team environment with nurse practitioner support
- On-site physical and occupational therapy services within the hospital
- Academic affiliation with opportunities for teaching involvement
- Potential collaboration with neuroscience and specialty programs for research
- Minimal Call- Remote Phone Call
- Additional compensation available for extra shifts if desired
- Base salary + wRVU production incentive, sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance
