Location: Northern California coast located in the heart of northern CA's majestic coastal redwood region. The Redwood Coast is a paradise for all outdoor activities including hiking backpacking fishing river rafting kayaking and more. Located 275 miles north of San Francisco Facility: comprised of two hospitals serving the health care needs of their community since 1920. Comprised of two campuses located within a quarter mile of each other offering comprehensive services including emergency cardiac services in The Heart Institute an accredited Cancer Program Women's and Children's Services in the Childbirth Center (including Pediatric Care and the only Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nursery (NICU) on the North Coast) Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. Today the hospital is literally growing to meet the future needs of the North Coast community. General features include: 100 000 square feet; Three floors – lower level first and second; 99 beds; 20 Emergency Department treatment rooms including two full state-of-the-art trauma bays; 17 pre-operative beds; 10 post-anesthesia care unit beds; 12 ICU rooms; 40 progressive care unit (PCU) beds; Surgical Services (eight operating rooms); Cardiac catheterization lab; Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray ultrasound and CT); Courtyard and expanded lobby and family lounges. Opportunity: Need coverage for: March 29 through April 2 April 28 through May 5 June 7 through 9 August 13 through 23 Oct 22 through Nov 1 November 19 through Dec 8 Dec 26 through 31 or a few days more through New Year’s if wanted. Consult on ped patients on request (i.e. ED). Admit ped patients from ER or direct admit from community pediatricians/family paractice. ATLS preferred BC or BE (w/in first 5 years) only. California license only. Compensation: Weekly pay Competitive rates Malpractice insurance.
