Locums | Pediatric Hospitalist/Neonatology | Eureka, CA (CA license required)

Ongoing assignment with defined coverage blocks
24-hour beeper call
Two openings
Temporary privileges available
Approximately 80% NICU and 20% pediatrics
Assignment Details
Dates: Ongoing beginning November 1, 2026
Current blocks: November 20–22; December 4–7, 10–14, 17–20, and 31
Potential earlier blocks: October 15–19 and October 30–November 2, subject to temporary privileges
Schedule: 24-hour beeper call, 6:00 AM–6:00 AM
Response time: 20–30 minutes
Coverage type: Inpatient call-only coverage
Setting: Pediatric and neonatal inpatient service
Patient mix: Approximately 80% NICU and 20% pediatrics
Population: NICU patients beginning at 32 weeks gestation, newborns, and pediatric patients
Supervision: No APP or resident supervision required
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days
Clinical Details
Required: Neonatal airway management and intubation
Required: Newborn resuscitation and management of premature infants at 32 weeks and above
Required: Neonatal pneumothorax management, including needle decompression
Required: Emergent UVC placement and UVC/UAC placement
Required: Lumbar puncture and EKG interpretation
Preferred: Neonatal and pediatric ventilator management
Preferred: Neonatal chest tube insertion
Pediatric hospitalist must have neonatology experience; neonatologist must be comfortable managing pediatric patients
No central-line placement outside the newborn period
Requirements
BC/BE in the applicable specialty; BE candidates must be within 3–5 years of residency
Active California medical license required
ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP required
Active DEA required
