WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Pediatric Neurologist and Site Director. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within a large academic medical center, where you can make a significant impact on the growth and development of Pediatric Epilepsy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a passion for teaching, and an interest in administrative responsibilities.
Overview
- Pediatric Neurologist serving as Site Director
- Replacement of departing physician; no net-new headcount
- Existing pediatric neurology team consists of 2 physicians currently
- Ideal candidate is 5-10 years out of training
- 70% clinical / 30% administrative
- Academic appointment and teaching responsibilities
- No travel requirements
- Schedule generally 8-4 or 9-5
Department Structure:
- Pediatric Neurology is part of a regional Neurology department spanning multiple campuses
- Department recently reorganized with Pediatric Neurology reporting under unified Neurology leadership
- One Division Director oversees all campuses
- Site Director reports to the Division Director
- Current faculty is very tenured, with several physicians having 20-25 years with the organization
Clinical Focus:
- Strong preference for Epilepsy-trained candidates
- Significant opportunity to grow Pediatric Epilepsy services
- Existing adult epilepsy program includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit that can support future growth efforts
- Candidates who enjoy inpatient work will be particularly attractive
Call/Inpatient Expectations:
- Approximately 1:4 call
- Departing physician handled the majority of inpatient coverage
- Remaining physicians currently perform roughly six weeks of inpatient service annually
- Ideal candidate would be willing to assume substantial inpatient responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities:
- Active Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Program
- Fellows historically rotated through multiple campuses
- Program is expanding rotations
- Opportunity for teaching, mentorship, and fellowship involvement
- Academic affiliation remains intact
Requirements:
- MD/DO
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologist
- Epilepsy training/interest strongly preferred
- Interest in leadership and administrative responsibilities
- Academic and teaching interest preferred
- Comfortable with inpatient coverage
- Ideal experience level: 5-10 years post-training
