Job description
An established community healthcare organization in the Texas Hill Country is seeking a dedicated Staff Pediatrician to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary care to children and families.
The physician will work within a multidisciplinary Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), providing direct pediatric care, managing an outpatient patient panel, supporting clinical quality initiatives, and contributing to community health programs.

The Staff Pediatrician will provide approximately 4,200 annual patient encounters within a 40-hour workweek.
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care in an outpatient setting.
Conduct routine well-child examinations and preventive health visits.
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
Manage chronic pediatric conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide age-appropriate screenings, immunizations, counseling, and preventive services.
Order, interpret, and follow up on appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
Continuity & Care Coordination
Review laboratory and X-ray results promptly and communicate appropriate follow-up.
Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
Ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
Participate in scheduled emergency or hospital on-call coverage when required by designated local hospitals.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, specialists, and members of the healthcare team.
Clinical Leadership & Oversight
Provide clinical guidance and supervision to appropriate support staff.
Collaborate with the Medical Director on quality improvement initiatives.
Support and maintain Patient-Centered Medical Home standards.
Participate in initiatives focused on clinical outcomes, patient safety, access, and care coordination.
Mentor medical students and other learners as appropriate.
Patient Education & Community Health
Educate patients and families regarding preventive care, wellness, nutrition, and disease management.
Promote adherence to recommended screenings, immunizations, and treatment plans.
Participate in community health education and outreach initiatives.
Support programs designed to improve health outcomes within the local community.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Texas medical license issued by the Texas Medical Board.
Current DEA registration and Texas DPS registration/certification, as applicable.
Current CPR certification for Healthcare Professionals.
Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges at designated area hospitals, if required.
Working knowledge of the Texas Medical Practice Act.
Knowledge of pediatric clinical protocols and EHR documentation requirements.
Strong clinical judgment.
Commitment to patient-centered care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Working Hours
Annual Patient Encounters: Approximately 4,200
Call
