Locums | Pediatric Hospitalist/Neonatology | Eureka, CA (active CA license required) Why This Role

  • Urgent 24-hour call coverage
  • Ongoing need with multiple defined 2026 blocks
  • Approximately 80% NICU and 20% general pediatrics
  • Temporary privileges available for clean files
  • Multiple providers considered
Assignment Details Dates: - October 15–19, 2026* - October 30–November 2, 2026* - November 20–22, 2026 - December 4–7, 2026 - December 10–14, 2026 - December 17–20, 2026 - December 31, 2026 *October coverage is tentative based on temporary-privilege timing; November 1 is the expected start Assignment is ongoing, but specific 2027 shifts have not yet been released Schedule: 24-hour beeper call, 6am–6am Setting: Inpatient Call response time: 20–30 minutes EMR: Epic Providers needed: 2 Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days Requirements Active California medical license Board certified or board eligible within 3–5 years of residency Pediatric Hospitalist with neonatology experience, or Neonatologist comfortable treating pediatric patients Active DEA Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP Completely clean malpractice, NPDB, licensure, and professional history CV and documentation covering 24 months of relevant clinical activity References available to respond promptly Clinical Details Manage NICU patients at 32 weeks’ gestation and above Newborn resuscitation and management of premature infants Required skills: - Neonatal airway management and intubation - Management of neonatal pneumothorax and needle decompression - Emergent delivery-room UVC placement - UVC and UAC placement - Lumbar puncture - EKG interpretation Ventilator management and neonatal chest tube placement preferred
