Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified Pediatrician for a locum hospitalist opportunity in Potsdam, NY. The physician will provide 24 hour call coverage for newborn nursery, high risk deliveries, pediatric inpatient care, and ER consultations. This is a 3 month assignment with potential for ongoing coverage.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage patients in the pediatric inpatient unit
• Provide newborn nursery coverage
• Attend and stabilize high risk deliveries
• Respond to pediatric ER consultations
• Stabilize critically ill newborns prior to transfer when necessary
• Remain within 20 minutes of the hospital while on call
• Complete clinical documentation using Epic
• Collaborate with OB, anesthesia, nursing, and other healthcare providers
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Active NY State Medical License in hand
• NRP, PALS & BLS required
• AHA or RQI certifications accepted
• Epic experience required
• Must be able to manage and stabilize critically ill newborns
• Residents & Fellows are not eligible
Working Hours
• 3 months with potential for ongoing coverage
• Approximately 5–7 shifts per month
• 24 hour call shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Weekday & weekend coverage required
• Multiple consecutive 24 hour shifts may be available
• Must be able to return to the hospital within 20 minutes while on call
