Staff Pediatrician Opportunity – Fredericksburg, Texas

A community-focused healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Staff Pediatrician to provide comprehensive, high-quality pediatric primary care in Fredericksburg, Texas.

As part of a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) environment, the Staff Pediatrician will provide outpatient pediatric care, manage an established patient panel, support clinical quality initiatives, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The physician will evaluate and treat a broad range of pediatric conditions while providing preventive services, patient education, care coordination, and clinical support to improve health outcomes for children and families.

Job Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care in an outpatient setting
Perform well-child visits and preventive health examinations
Diagnose and treat acute pediatric illnesses and injuries
Manage chronic pediatric conditions
Develop individualized treatment plans
Provide immunizations, screenings, counseling, and preventive services
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record
Care Coordination:
Review diagnostic results and provide appropriate follow-up
Coordinate referrals with specialists and healthcare providers
Ensure continuity of care for pediatric patients
Communicate effectively with families and care teams
Participate in on-call responsibilities when required
Clinical Leadership:
Provide guidance and oversight to clinical support staff
Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives
Support PCMH standards and patient safety goals
Participate in clinical improvement programs
Mentor medical students and healthcare learners when applicable
Patient Education & Community Health:
Educate families on preventive care, nutrition, wellness, and disease management
Promote immunization and screening compliance
Participate in community outreach programs
Support initiatives improving pediatric health outcomes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
Current DEA registration
Texas DPS registration/certification, as applicable
Current CPR certification for Healthcare Professionals
Ability to obtain hospital privileges if required
Knowledge of pediatric clinical protocols and EHR documentation
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year of pediatric practice experience
Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred
Experience in outpatient pediatrics
Experience in community health or PCMH environments
Background in preventive medicine, population health, or quality improvement initiatives

Working Hours

Schedule:
Full-Time | 40-hour workweek

Practice Setting:
Outpatient Pediatrics / Community Health

Call Schedule:
Hospital or emergency call coverage as required by designated facilities
