Pediatrician Physician Needed in Kayenta, AZ!

We are seeking a Pediatric physician to provide outpatient pediatric services at Kayenta Health Center, an Indian Health Service facility in Kayenta, Arizona. The position supports the Kayenta Service Unit and provides care to IHS patients in the Outpatient Department.

Schedule & Assignment

• Full-time schedule: 80 hours per two-week period.

• Specific tour of duty is determined by the facility supervisor.

• Primary work location is the Kayenta Health Center Outpatient Department.

• Minimum 3-month assignment; longer-term coverage may be available.

• Physician may rotate into other duty sections as needed to support patient care.

Compensation

• $160 per hour

• Travel and lodging provided

• Minimum 3-month commitment

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide Pediatrics physician services to IHS patients.

• Evaluate, examine, diagnose, treat, and coordinate appropriate referrals and consultations.

• Manage common acute and chronic medical conditions and provide indicated immunizations.

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide limited urgent care services as appropriate.

• Treat lower-acuity illnesses, infections, minor orthopedic complaints, and minor trauma within scope.

• Provide patient education and limited nutritional counseling as appropriate.

• Follow Kayenta Service Unit clinical practice guidelines, medical staff policies, and applicable federal healthcare standards.

• Complete medical record and EHR documentation on the day of the patient visit.

• Provide timely follow-up of laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate results to patients.

• Work collaboratively and professionally with patients, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals.

• Expected patient volume is approximately 7–8 patients per four-hour block.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or DO.

• Completion of an approved Pediatrics residency and ABMS/AOA Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics, or comparable training and experience approved by the Credentials Committee.

• Current medical license in any U.S. state.

• Current BLS and ACLS, or equivalent training approved by the Clinical Director.

• Current, active DEA registration.

• Enrollment in the Arizona Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.

• EMR/EHR capable.

• Valid state driver's license if required for the position.

• Ability to successfully complete required IHS credentialing, health screening, orientation, and federal background/security requirements.
