Job description
We are seeking a Locum Pediatrics Physician for 24 hour call coverage in Florence, OR. The physician will provide coverage for neonatal & pediatric patients, including deliveries and newborn admissions after delivery.
Coverage is needed for 14–21 days per month, with the assignment currently approved through January 14, 2027. The physician must remain within 30 minutes of the hospital throughout the call period. Tele neonatology support is available.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide care for neonatal & pediatric patients
• Attend deliveries as needed
• Admit newborns after delivery
• Perform neonatal resuscitation when required
• Provide inpatient care and consultations
• Respond to callback needs, typically 1–2 nights per week
• Work independently with tele neonatology support available
• Remain within 30 minutes of the hospital while on call
• Complete required clinical documentation in EPIC
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Pediatrics or Family Practice
• Active Oregon medical license required
• NRP certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Demonstrated pediatric or family medicine clinical activity within the previous 24 months
• Appropriate case logs, training logs, or quality profiles may be required for credentialing
• Oregon license is preferred for candidates seeking an expedited start
Working Hours
• 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Day, night & weekend coverage
• 14–21 days of coverage required per month
• Approximately 6–7 births per month
• Average daily census of approximately 1 patient
• Physician must remain within 30 minutes of the hospital during call
• 4 hours of included gratis time per 24 hour call shift
