Job description
The Pediatrics Physician provides comprehensive pediatric care within a collaborative, team-based environment serving Alaska Native communities. The role emphasizes culturally respectful care aligned with TCC’s Ch’eghwtsen’ model—prioritizing trust, compassion, and timely service.
Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Work occurs in clinic, hospital, long-term care, and remote village settings.
- May involve harsh weather, small aircraft travel, and limited amenities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending and kneeling.
- Possible exposure to infectious materials.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage preventive care, acute care, chronic conditions, and emergencies.
• Utilize telehealth and support rural village clinics as needed.
• Coordinate care after hospitalizations, ER visits, and specialty referrals.
• Participate in quality improvement, CME, and clinical skill development.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly.
• Promote patient education and wellness.
• Address patient concerns and ensure confidentiality.
• Maintain timely documentation and appropriate billing.
• Meet patient care hour expectations and access goals.
Qualifications
• Must meet all licensure, credentialing, and privileging requirements for Pediatrics.
• Must pass background check per Indian Child Protection & Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Must have an Alaska License
