Locum Pediatric Hospitalist Opening – Eureka, CA
Job Details:

Schedule Type: 24-hour beeper call
Shift Times: 6:00 AM – 6:00 AM
Start Date: June 25, 2026
Urgency: Urgent coverage need
Dates of Coverage:
- June 25–29
- July 2–7
- July 23–27
- July 30–August 1
Candidate Requirements:
- Active CA license
- DEA required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3–5 years of residency
- NRP required
- Clean file required
- Current CV required with all hospital affiliations listed
- Gaps greater than 3 months must be explained
- Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in specialty required
Required Skills/Procedures:
- Neonatal airway management including intubation
- Management of neonatal air leak/pneumothorax including needle decompression
- Emergent UVC placement in delivery room
- UVC/UAC placement
- Lumbar puncture
- EKG interpretation preferred
- Ventilator management
- Chest tube insertion for neonates
Additional Details:
The facility does not typically perform central line placement outside the newborn period. Pediatric chest tubes and intubations would most likely occur in the ED, with ED physicians and anesthesia generally having more experience in those situations.
