Assignment Overview
- Location: Randolph, Vermont
- Start Date: June 19, 2026
- End Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule Type: Flexible
- Position Type: Call-only (no clinic duties)
Schedule & Call Coverage
- Primary coverage: Thursdays 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- 1:4 weekend call rotation starting Thursday 5:00 PM
- Weekend coverage may extend through Monday 8:00 AM
- 30-minute callback requirement
Clinical Responsibilities
- Newborn nursery coverage
- Pediatric consults in the Emergency Department
- Inpatient pediatric care (patients under 18)
- Respond to pager calls from patients and staff
Patient Care Duties
- Routine newborn care in nursery
- Participation in high-risk deliveries & neonatal resuscitation
- Manage newborn conditions: jaundice, feeding issues, hypoglycemia
- Stabilization for NICU transfers
- Support for pediatric emergencies in the ED
- Participation in pediatric codes
Call Expectations
- Postpartum & breastfeeding-related inquiries
- Pediatric symptom calls: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash
Volume
- 0–5 calls per overnight shift
- 1–2 admissions annually per provider
- Facility averages 200+ deliveries annually
Requirements
- Board Certified Pediatrician
- Active Vermont license
- MD required
