– Leadership Position
Inpatient Pediatrics
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Pediatric Hospitalist to provide clinical leadership and help advance the quality, safety, and operational excellence of our inpatient pediatric services. This role combines direct patient care with meaningful leadership responsibilities, working closely with nursing, administrative, and physician partners to ensure exceptional pediatric care delivery.
Clinical & Operational Leadership
* Provide leadership, guidance, and vision for the Pediatric Hospitalist team.
* Partner with nursing and administrative leadership to optimize clinical care delivery across the inpatient pediatric unit.
* Assist with developing and implementing pediatric policies, procedures, protocols, and clinical guidelines.
* Ensure consistent application of departmental care standards across the hospitalist group.
* Support the Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in their newborn nursery roles.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
* Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with Emergency Department clinicians; provide consultative support for pediatric patients as requested.
* Work closely with the pediatric clinical nurse specialist and nurse manager to advance pediatric safety and quality initiatives.
* Collaborate with all admitting providers to support hospital-wide goals.
Committee Participation & Quality Improvement
* Maintain an active list of committees requiring pediatric hospitalist representation; participate directly or delegate appropriately.
* Attend required meetings, including:
* Pediatric Department Meeting
* Pediatric Quality & Safety Subcommittee
* Pediatric/ED Multidisciplinary Committee
* Women’s & Children’s Pediatric Service Line Meeting
* Review and address HERO reports related to pediatric floor patients.
* Participate in scholarly, quality improvement, and clinical initiative projects.
Administrative Responsibilities
* Ensure timely completion and management of the pediatric hospitalist schedule.
* Meet regularly with key leadership—including the Chair of Pediatrics and Director of Inpatient Pediatrics—to establish and monitor quality and safety goals.
* Conduct monthly meetings with pediatric hospitalists and pediatric nursing leadership to discuss cases, quality issues, operations, and collaborative initiatives.
* Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications
* Board-certified or board-eligible Pediatrician
* Demonstrated leadership experience or strong interest in clinical leadership
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to high-quality, family-centered pediatric care
