Job description The Pediatrician provides comprehensive primary care to infants, children, and adolescents in a community health setting. As a key member of the medical team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the Pediatrician delivers high-quality, culturally competent, and family-centered care to underserved populations. This role focuses on prevention, early intervention, chronic disease management, and coordination of care to improve health outcomes for pediatric patients.

Job Responsibilities

Provide outpatient primary care services to patients from birth through age 18

Perform well-child visits, developmental screenings, sports physicals, immunizations, and health education.

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions (e.g., asthma, obesity, ADHD).

Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, imaging, and screenings.

Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans.

Educate patients and their families about health promotion, disease prevention, nutrition, and developmental milestones.

Collaborate with behavioral health, case management, dental, and specialty care providers.

Document all patient encounters thoroughly and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Participate in quality improvement activities, peer reviews, and clinic-wide initiatives.

Adhere to standards and guidelines established by HRSA, NCQA-PCMH, and applicable federal and state agencies.

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

Licensure/Certification:

Unrestricted medical license in Georgia

Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics

Valid DEA registration and state prescribing authority

BLS and PALS certification

Skills

Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in pediatric medicine

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families

Cultural humility and sensitivity to the needs of diverse patient populations

Proficiency in EHR systems
