Job description Pediatric surgery call coverage at a 390-bed regional medical center in the Eugene-Springfield, Oregon area. Pay is $3,611.52 per 24-hour call day (7a to 7a), with callback at $495.90 an hour. The first four callback hours are unpaid and already included in the call rate. A Monday to Sunday call week comes to about $25,280 before callback. You cover solo, with 1 to 5 patients a day across infants, children, and adolescents. The ideal fit is one full week at a time, start and end times are flexible, and the department wants coverage as soon as credentialing allows. Credentialing is on a fast track of 30 to 60 days. Travel is covered. An Oregon license in hand is required, and Oregon is not an IMLC state.

Job Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour pediatric surgery call coverage, 7a to 7a. Evaluate and treat infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, including general pediatric surgery, neonatal and congenital conditions, GI procedures, and soft tissue and skin lesions. Handle trauma-related and emergency surgical interventions, plus urgent and elective cases as needed. Round on and admit inpatients. Work solo with ED and hospital teams supporting.

Qualifications

MD or DO. Board certified or board eligible in pediatric surgery. Oregon medical license in hand at the time of presentation. BLS and ACLS from the AHA or American Red Cross. Case logs showing pediatric surgery work over the last 24 months (training log if you finished training within the last year). Flu vaccine required in season, with medical or religious exemptions only.

Working Hours

24-hour call, 7a to 7a. Monday to Sunday rotation, ideally one full week at a time. Start and end times are flexible. Start as soon as credentialing is complete.
