Client is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and clinically skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist to join its multidisciplinary team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Physical Therapist who wants to provide meaningful, individualized care in a supportive clinical environment where the needs and progress of each child—not rigid productivity expectations—drive treatment decisions.

The organization brings Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Mental Health, Feeding Therapy, therapeutic preschool, school-readiness, and transition programming together in an integrated setting.
Its modern, approximately 35,000-square-foot pediatric facility features engaging treatment rooms, movement areas, sensory-friendly spaces, and environments designed to help children feel safe, regulated, engaged, and ready to learn.
The Pediatric Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat children with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, mobility, balance, coordination, and gross-motor challenges.
The therapist will develop individualized treatment programs that are engaging, functional, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate. The goal is to help children improve mobility, independence, safety, confidence, and participation at home, at school, and in their communities.
Because Client operates as an integrated pediatric practice, the Physical Therapist will collaborate regularly with professionals across multiple disciplines. This team-based approach allows clinicians to address the whole child while maintaining coordinated goals across services.

Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive pediatric physical therapy evaluations, reassessments, and functional mobility assessments.
Develop individualized, measurable plans of care based on each child's abilities, challenges, developmental needs, and family priorities.
Provide evidence-based, play-focused physical therapy interventions.
Address gross-motor development, strength, balance, coordination, gait, posture, endurance, mobility, body awareness, and motor planning.
Treat children with developmental delays, autism, neurological conditions, orthopedic concerns, atypical gait patterns, and other pediatric diagnoses.
Create engaging activities that encourage participation, confidence, independence, and functional progress.
Monitor clinical outcomes and modify treatment plans based on progress and changing needs.
Educate parents and caregivers regarding positioning, mobility, safety, exercises, and home-program recommendations.
Collaborate with BCBAs, RBTs, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, mental-health clinicians, feeding specialists, educators, physicians, and caregivers.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, care conferences, and clinical discussions.
Recommend adaptive equipment, mobility supports, or orthotic consultation when clinically appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely, and payer-compliant evaluations, progress reports, treatment notes, and discharge documentation.
Communicate professionally with families, referral sources, physicians, schools, and other members of the child's care team.
Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and child-friendly treatment environment.
Follow professional, ethical, regulatory, and facility standards.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented clinical culture.
Qualifications
Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; appropriately licensed bachelor's- or master's-prepared Physical Therapists will also be considered.
Active Illinois Physical Therapist license or ability to obtain one before starting.
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to establish trusting relationships with children and their families.
Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary pediatric environment.
Commitment to ethical, compassionate, family-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous pediatric physical therapy experience.
Experience in pediatric outpatient, early-intervention, school-based, rehabilitation, or multidisciplinary settings.
Experience working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Familiarity with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, torticollis, toe walking, gait abnormalities, sensory differences, neurological conditions, and genetic or congenital diagnoses.
Experience collaborating with ABA, occupational therapy, speech therapy, mental-health, or feeding-therapy teams.
Knowledge of play-based, sensory-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
Experience with electronic medical records and insurance-compliant clinical documentation.
