Tampa is growing fast, and its premier pediatric rehab program is keeping ahead of the curve - by building a brand-new children's hospital in the fastest-growing part of town. Pediatric PM&R is going to be a big part of that growth, with a new inpatient unit and OP clinics.
We need a Pediatric Physiatrist to lead as Medical Director and help shape and develop the new rehab program, with the backing of an elite children’s healthcare brand. You will be able to put your imprint on the program, building your ideal, which is a rare thing. Located in a very desirable northern Tampa suburb, you'll have the ease of living that comes from a family-focused community, yet have a quick drive to the excitement of Tampa itself!
You would help guide the system’s new inpatient rehabilitation unit and develop its outpatient physiatry services. The program will grow quickly as the need is great - they draw from 17 counties now, and the reach is expected to grow. Your voice will be heard in its direction from the beginning. On-site PT, OT, and speech therapy services and collaboration with experienced pediatric physiatry colleagues at the main campus provide support as you build the local program.
A few highlights:
- Leadership and program development: Help shape inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.
- Hospitalist support: Evening and weekend coverage; this is not a 24/7 call responsibility.
- Compensation and incentives: Experience-based salary with mission and potential productivity incentives; sign-on and relocation assistance may be available.
- Academic options: University appointments for those interested, teaching without a required academic research component (but avail if desired).
An experienced pediatric physiatrist with inpatient rehabilitation experience and an interest in program development would be an excellent fit. Strong candidates completing training may also be considered.
