The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology or a faculty Pediatric Pulmonologist to grow into a leadership position. This key physician leader is an integral part of the Child Health Department and leads all administrative, clinical, and educational activities for the division. With the opening of the new Children’s Hospital in 2024, the division chief will play an important role in maintaining the position of the division as market leader in the region and in planning the expansion of outreach services across the state.

Successful Candidates must demonstrate:

  • The ability to lead a diverse group in clinical, research and teaching programs
  • Work collaboratively with hospital and academic department partners
  • Ability to successfully mentor junior faculty
  • A commitment to excellence in patient care
  • Experience with Strategic Growth, Budgeting and Resource Management

Job Responsibilities

The Division Chief’s responsibilities include:

Leading the divisions clinical, research and educational services
Fostering the growth and expansion of Pediatric Pulmonary programs with the goal to develop an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology
Expanding both the clinical and interdisciplinary research programs
Supervision of Division staff including Physicians, Advanced Practice Professionals, and support staff

Qualifications

MD/DO
Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology
5+ years’ experience in Pediatric Pulmonology
Demonstrated success in leadership roles
