Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in St. Louis, Missouri, beginning November 2026. Coverage is needed for one continuous Friday-to-Friday service week per month, providing inpatient Pediatric Nephrology, dialysis services, and 24/7 call coverage at a Children's Hospital.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: November 3, 2026
- 1 week per month
Schedule
- 24/7 coverage throughout assigned service week
- Monday–Friday: Onsite approximately 7:00/8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: Onsite approximately 7:00/8:00 AM–2:00 PM or longer as needed
- Overnight and after onsite hours: Call from nearby hotel
- 1-hour response time when required to return onsite
- Approximately 7 call shifts per month for a 1.0 FTE
- Approximately 10 calls per day
- Estimated 14 hours of call activity per week
- Estimated 20 hours of onsite emergent care per week

Clinical Responsibilities
- Pediatric Nephrology admissions and consultations
- Renal biopsies
- Inpatient hemodialysis
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Plasmapheresis
- Provide inpatient Pediatric Nephrology coverage
- Provide outpatient hemodialysis coverage as needed
- Provide 24/7 call coverage during assigned service weeks
- Return onsite for emergent care when clinically required

Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certification in Pediatric Nephrology required
- Active Missouri medical license required
Credentialing Considerations
- Active Missouri license must already be in hand
Ideal Candidate
A Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist with an active Missouri license who can consistently provide approximately one Friday-to-Friday service week per month. The ideal physician is comfortable managing complex inpatient Pediatric Nephrology patients and performing renal biopsies, hemodialysis, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, and plasmapheresis, while providing 24/7 call coverage with a one-hour onsite response when needed.
