Start Date: December 26, 2025 – Ongoing (minimum 1 week/month commitment preferred)

St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Nephrologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage starting December 26, 2025. This role offers a blend of inpatient and outpatient care with consistent on-call rotation and the flexibility to build a recurring monthly schedule. Premium holiday and ongoing coverage rates available.

Assignment Details

  • Start: December 26, 2025 – ongoing - First rotation is 12/26- 1/3.

  • Schedule: Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM weekly rotation (inpatient/outpatient + call)

  • Setting: Combined Inpatient and Outpatient (Epic EMR)

  • Facility: St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, PA

  • Practice Scope: Pediatric Nephrology (acute & chronic management)

  • Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days

  • Licensure: Active Pennsylvania medical license required

Clinical Highlights

  • Patients: Approx. 5 outpatients daily + inpatient consults/rounding

  • Call: Beeper call; response within 15 minutes

  • Typical Mix: ~70% inpatient / 30% outpatient

  • Support Staff: 1 RN, 3 MAs, 1 NP/PA, 1 office staff

  • Procedures & Conditions:

    • Hemodialysis (required)

    • Peritoneal dialysis (acute/chronic)

    • Percutaneous & needle renal biopsy (preferred)

    • Management of transplant and complex renal syndromes (Bartter’s, Fabry, HUS, etc.)

Requirements

  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Pediatric Nephrology (ABP)

  • Active Pennsylvania License

  • PALS Certification - We can help with Life Support Certification if needed.

  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology
