Position Details

• Position Type: Permanent, Full-time opportunity

• Schedule: 24-hour coverage with an out-of-house shift model

• Join a team of 2.5 full-time pediatric hospitalists and 2.5 pediatric intensivists at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, a highly regarded community hospital serving southeast Idaho.

Position Highlights

• Provide care for a diverse patient population across multiple states and regions within a 10-bed pediatric unit

• Serve a large catchment area with high-risk and complex pediatric patients

• Responsibilities include:

  • Caring for medical patients on the pediatric unit

  • Consulting on pediatric patients in the emergency department

  • Consulting on surgical patients

  • Caring for newborn infants who do not require NICU-level care

• Only hospital in Idaho designated as an “Expert” for Pediatric Care Readiness

• Collaborate with the affiliated hospital in Salt Lake City for transfers and highly acute cases

Facility and Clinical Support

• 318-bed hospital

• Level II Trauma Center

• 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

• 26-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

• Approximately 1,200 deliveries annually

• Established pediatric support network, including:

  • Pediatric intensivists and neonatologists

  • Pediatric neurology

  • Pediatric endocrinology

  • Pediatric cardiology

  • Pediatric surgery

  • Pediatric anesthesia

  • Child life specialists

  • Pediatric nutritionists

  • Physical therapists

Requirements

• Board Certified in Pediatrics

• Board Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred, but not required

• Experience preferred, but not required

• Active Idaho medical license required
