Job description
A community hospital in Owatonna, Minnesota needs a pediatric hospitalist for 24-hour call coverage starting January 11, 2027, on an assignment of about 13 months. They are looking for 15 to 20 days of coverage a month.
The work is light and steady. You round on an average of 1 to 5 newborns and 0 to 2 pediatric patients. About every third or fourth shift you come back to the hospital after rounds for an urgent need, such as a sick newborn, a delivery where resuscitation is expected, or a pediatric admission. The hospital does not keep sick newborns or critically ill children, who transfer to Children's in Minneapolis or to Mayo in Rochester.
Shifts run 7am to 7am. Family medicine physicians with strong pediatric experience will be considered, and a local provider is preferred.
Pay is $1,962.23 per 24-hour call day. Travel is covered.
