Coverage: Part-time or Full-time | Minimum 4 shifts/month
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Population: Newborns and Pediatric Patients
Patient Volume: 10–20 newborns and 10–14 pediatric patients/day
Schedule:
- 7:00 AM–4:00 PM: Newborn nursery coverage
- 7:00 AM–8:00 PM: Acute pediatric care
- 7:00 PM–7:30 AM: Overnight coverage for newborns and pediatrics
- All shifts require in-house coverage; no call responsibilities
- Weekend availability required
Clinical Details:
- Newborn care is limited to the nursery; no deliveries or NICU coverage
- Pediatric care is acute inpatient only; no ICU coverage
- Lumbar punctures required for pediatric floor coverage
- Circumcisions are optional
- Intermittent resident teaching
- In-house ED and PICU support
EMR: Allscripts and Cerner, with transition to Epic planned
Requirements:
- MD/DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- 1–2 years of experience after residency
At least 1 year of newborn care or pediatric hospitalist experience - Arizona medical license
- AHA BLS and PALS
- Arizona DEA
- Must be able to perform required procedures
- Clean background and no malpractice or license issues
Additional Information:
- New hospital opening with coverage expected through Fall 2027
- Credentialing timeframe: 3–4 months
- Temporary privileges are not available
