A hospital in the Winchester, Virginia area needs a board certified pediatric hospitalist for per diem coverage, with open dates from late November through the end of December. Top pay on a flat daily rate that covers all hours worked, with premium pay on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Block scheduling is available, and travel and expenses are covered.

Job Responsibilities

24 hours of rounding plus call from home or hotel. You care for patients on a 17-bed pediatric floor, with an average census of 5, and in the newborn nursery, which averages about 15 babies and supports roughly 2,400 deliveries a year. Advanced practice providers support you during the day. You collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, available onsite and by telehealth through major academic children's programs, and the same group covers the NICU, so there is continuity of care.

Qualifications

Board certified in pediatrics, board eligible is not accepted. A Virginia license in hand, since Virginia is not an IMLC state. Clinically active within the last year, with at least 6 months of pediatric experience. A prescreen questionnaire and a CV in MM/YYYY format with all gaps explained. Credentialing takes about 60 to 90 days, with no temporary privileges, so apply early.

Working Hours

24-hour shifts, per diem. Open dates: Nov 21 to 22, Nov 24 to 29, Dec 11 to 13, Dec 18 to 20, Dec 22 to 27, and Dec 29 to 31. Block scheduling is available.
