A hospital in the Williston, North Dakota area needs a pediatric hospitalist for urgent coverage starting October 22, with the assignment continuing for a year. $2,079 for each 24-hour shift, $3,118.50 on holidays, and callbacks at $215.60 an hour. Up to 10 to 15 shifts a month. Temporary privileges are available, and travel and expenses are covered.

Job Responsibilities

Inpatient pediatric hospitalist coverage for all newborn births, pediatric admissions from the ER, and rounds and care for admitted hospital patients. Volume averages 2 to 4 newborns and 1 to 2 inpatient pediatric patients a day, a bit higher during RSV and cold season. A typical month is 6 to 10 days of 24-hour shifts, and shifts hand off at 4am or 4pm. Meditech EMR. The hospital is next to the Hampton Inn, where lodging is arranged.

Qualifications

Board certified in pediatrics (preferred) or board eligible (required). An active North Dakota license is preferred, and an IMLC letter of qualification in hand is required if you do not hold one. DEA required. PALS and BLS, or NRP. A clean malpractice record is preferred, and dismissed cases will be reviewed. Credentialing is quick if you return your paperwork immediately. Local providers are highly preferred.

Working Hours

24-hour shifts, up to 10 to 15 shifts a month. Start October 22 with a 4am handoff, covering October 22 through November 1 and ending November 2 at 4am. All other shifts start and end at 7am. Ongoing for one year.
