Coverage: Call Only
Practice Setting: Inpatient
EMR: Paragon
Schedule / Call:
- Beeper call
- 20-minute response time
- 1:1 call ratio
- Approximately 5 phone consults per 24 hours
- Approximately 3–8 patients seen and admissions during call
- Call covers both patient care and admissions
Patient Volume:
- 16-bed pediatric department
- Approximately 2–5 patients per shift
Support:
- 3 RNs
- 1 MA
- No APP supervision required
Requirements:
- Board Eligible accepted
- NC medical license or IMLC
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- ABLS
Clinical Skills:
- Pediatric and newborn ventilation management
- Pediatric/newborn intubation
- Central and arterial lines
- UVC/UAC
- Lumbar puncture
- Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube insertion
- Needle decompression
- X-ray and EKG interpretation
- Conscious/deep sedation
- Circumcision
- Other pediatric procedures as required
