An established community hospital in Turlock, California is seeking an experienced and dynamic physician leader to serve as Medical Director for Newborn Services. This leadership role is ideal for a pediatrician with strong clinical expertise in neonatal resuscitation, newborn stabilization, and Level II nursery management, combined with a passion for program development, team leadership, and elevating standards of pediatric care in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and strategic leadership for pediatric and newborn services

  • Oversee Level II nursery operations, including care protocols, stabilization practices, and quality metrics

  • Lead neonatal resuscitation and delivery room response standards for high-risk deliveries

  • Partner with hospital leadership, nursing, and ancillary teams to advance quality and safety initiatives

  • Engage in community outreach and relationship-building with referring providers

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree; Board Certified in Pediatrics

  • Significant clinical experience in delivery attendance, newborn stabilization and resuscitation, and newborn care

  • Prior leadership/medical director experience strongly preferred

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified

  • Eligible for California medical licensure

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, collaborative leadership, and community-based care
