Locums – Long Beach, California, Pediatric Endocrinology Opening

Clinical Role

• ASAP start with ongoing need
• One Pediatric Endocrinologist needed
• Approximately 1 week of coverage per month
• Locum-to-permanent candidates welcomed
• Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient coverage
• Inpatient rounding
• Newly fellowship-trained physicians may be considered

Schedule & Call

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm during coverage week
• Approximately half-day of clinic coverage each day
• Video visits may be incorporated into clinic coverage
• Weeknight and weekend call during assigned coverage week
• Call may include consultations from the Emergency Department, NICU, PICU, and inpatient Hospitalist service
• Callback requirements are currently being determined

Practice Setting & Clinical Expectations

• Pediatric Endocrinology clinic and inpatient service
• Insulin pump management
• Continuous glucose monitoring management
• Supervision of infusion center endocrine testing, including stimulation testing
• Epic experience required

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
• Board Eligible candidates must be within the appropriate timeframe to sit for boards
• Active California license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; newly completed fellowship candidates may also be considered
• Clean background and malpractice history required
• Local candidates within commuting distance highly preferred
