The Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center seeks psychologists experienced in adolescent acute behavioral health treatment to provide empirically supported assessment and treatment of adolescents presenting with serious mental illness and complex behavioral concerns within acute psychiatric services.
Psychologists in adolescent acute care contribute specialized clinical expertise in assessment, treatment, and program development, supporting high-quality care for youth and families within an interdisciplinary acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center seeks psychologists experienced in adolescent acute behavioral health treatment to provide empirically supported assessment and treatment of adolescents presenting with serious mental illness and complex behavioral concerns within acute psychiatric services.
Psychologists in adolescent acute care contribute specialized clinical expertise in assessment, treatment, and program development, supporting high-quality care for youth and families within an interdisciplinary acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides individualized psychological consultation and assessment to inform behavioral intervention planning across adolescent acute units, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs, in collaboration with master’s-level Behavioral Health Therapists and interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Supports the training and professional development of direct-care staff in implementing evidence-based behavioral strategies across the inpatient setting
- Functions as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary care team, including psychiatrists, pediatricians, advanced practice providers, therapists, behavioral health technicians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, medical residents, and support staff
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Clinical experience and advanced competencies in acute psychiatric care
- Competency in administration, scoring, report writing, and feedback of psychological assessments (intellectual, adaptive, executive, academic, symptom-specific, and personality measures)
- Competency in evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of behavioral health concerns
- Experience in integrated care settings
- Experience in research, research training, or program development
Education Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.): Psychology
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
- Licensed as a psychologist in the State of Oklahoma or able to obtain licensure in the State of Oklahoma
Experience Requirements
- Completion of a predoctoral, APA-accredited internship
- Specialized training in psychology, including a postdoctoral residency/fellowship
- 0 - 3 years’ experience, including postdoctoral training
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Be eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center
- Have knowledge of evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation
- Have an interest in training/supervision of trainees in psychology and other disciplines
- Have experience in research, program development, and/or quality improvement
