• Exciting Pathology Leadership position - Level 1 Trauma Center Conemaugh Health System--the largest health system in West Central PA, is searching for a Laboratory Medicine Medical Director to oversee five hospitals.
• The Medical Director, who must be board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology, is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the Laboratory Medicine Department across the health system with the flagship, Medical Center--home to a Level 1 Trauma Center and Level 3 NICU, located in Johnstown, PA.
• The role will include supervising the system's staff pathologists, effectively ensuring the quality of patient care by implementing the health system's pathology quality assurance program, and operating in accordance with all requirements of the American Medical Association,
• The Joint Commission, The College of American Pathologists, in addition to all federal, state or local licensing requirements.
• The medical director will work collaboratively with departmental management, as well as other hospital department leadership and administration regarding matters affecting patient care.
• As a board-certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist, the physician will have experience with surgical pathology, hematopathology, cytopathology, and autopsy, in addition to clinical experience in hematology, microbiology, chemistry and blood bank.
