HCA Healthcare Pathology Services is seeking an experienced Pathology Market Medical Director to oversee pathology operations across four hospitals in the East Florida Division. This working leadership role is based at HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital and includes oversight of:

• HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital

• HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital

• HCA Florida Highlands Hospital

Position Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities (90%)

• Surgical pathology sign-out

• Frozen sections and FNAs

• Clinical lab oversight

• Test utilization management

• Participation in on-call rotation

• Blood utilization consultations

Administrative Responsibilities (10%)

• Committee participation

• Scheduling and workload distribution

• Quality data review

• Tumor board involvement

• Building strong relationships with hospital leadership and pathology teams

Qualifications

• AP/CP Board Certification

• 3–5 years of Medical Director experience in a large or multi-hospital setting

• Florida license or FCVS in progress

• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills

• Experience managing a large group of pathologists

Practice Snapshot

• Two-pathologist practice

• Approximately 3,700 cases per year (surgicals, cytologies, bone marrows)

• No gyn-cytology or autopsy responsibilities

• Oversight of labs within free-standing emergency departments
