Job description
seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist for a locum-to-permanent opportunity due to staffing shortage. This is a hospital-based pathology lab position with no call requirements and a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.
The laboratory holds CLIA and New York State certifications and operates within a Level III trauma center. The pathology team includes four pathologists, five histotechnologists, one pathology assistant, and two cytotechnologists. Other pathologists will be present during coverage
Job Responsibilities
Surgical Pathology
Cytology (including GYN cytology)
Frozen section analysis
Grossing own specimens
Cutting own frozen sections on cryostat
Interpretation and reporting using EPIC/Beaker
Qualifications
Active New York State License – Required
NPDB Self-Query report (within same month of submission) – Required
Clean malpractice and license history – Required
Ability to convert to permanent position
Working Hours
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No call requirements
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40–45 days
Locum coverage duration: 3–6 months
Skills
Experience with cytology and GYN cytology proficiency
Frozen section competency
Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment
Familiarity with EPIC/Beaker documentation system
